Neste ano, a MTV Movie & TV Awards se deu de forma inusitada e acabou sendo realizada em dois dias diferentes. A primeira parte, conduzida pela divertidíssima Leslie Jones, aconteceu no domingo (17) e consagrou Wandavision como a série da temporada, além das homenagens feitas ao ator Sacha Baron Cohen por seu talento na comédia e à eterna Viúva-Negra, Scarlett Johansson, por sua extensa filmografia.
Já a noite seguinte (18), guiada pela comediante Nikki Glaser, condecorou os melhores programas de variedades e realities do ano, com destaque para as vitórias de RuPaul’s Drag Race, premiado com os títulos de “Melhor Elenco de Reality Show”, “Melhor Apresentador” e “Melhor série de TV de competição”.
